Changes to OH Pre-Employment Process

Date: 26 April 2022 to 01 October 2022

Changes to the pre-employment Occupational Health clearance process for hiring managers

Dear colleagues

On 1 April, changes were made to the pre-employment Occupational Health clearance process.

I’m a hiring manager – What does this mean for me?

If you’re a hiring manager, as part of the approval process of the post on Job Train, you’re now responsible for ensuring that a Workplace Hazard Identification Form has been completed for each vacancy and is attached prior to submission.

The information within this form will allow Occupational Health to assess the applicant’s health status against identifiable workplace hazards. Occupational Health clearance for the post will be based on the information provided in this form.

I’m a Director – What does this mean for me?

It’s also the responsibility of the Strategic Business Unit (SBU) Director to ensure this form is attached prior to submitting their approval for the vacancy.

Guidance notes for managers with explanations of the hazards are available on HR Connect.

Thank you
