Achieving excellence through people

Welcome to the Human Resources and Learning and Development team page for The State Hospital.

The Human Resources Team provides professional and specialist HR advice to managers and staff relating to a range of Human Resources issues to ensure fairness and consistency of employment practice and to minimise the risk to The State Hospital by the correct application of terms and conditions of employment, HR policies / procedures and employment legislation.

The Learning and Development Team operates as a central learning hub and offers a range of opportunities to facilitate access to learning, develop our workforce and assist individuals in achieving their potential. Our purpose is to provide training and education, for patients and for staff, to support personal and professional development and to equip staff with the knowledge and skills they require to deliver safe, effective, person-centred care.

The Organisational Development Department supports the organisation to improve overall effectiveness through the application of behavioural science to organisational and system issues to align strategy and capability.
