iMatter is a survey tool that has been designed with staff in NHSScotland to help individuals, teams and Health Boards understand and improve staff experience.

Staff experience is a term used to describe the extent to which employees feel motivated, supported and cared for at work and is reflected in levels of engagement, motivation and productivity.  The iMatter tool gives staff the chance to feedback, influence, change and improve their experiences in the workplace.

iMatter is a great way to improve your experience at work. Engaging with iMatter can be hugely beneficial for you, your team and the wider organisation.  These shared benefits are what iMatter is all about.  Please take the time to fully engage with the iMatter process and play an active part in improving staff experience.

Detailed in the tabs below you will find iMatter information relating to your Board.

An eLearning module has also been developed and this can be found on NHS 24's Turas Learn site – it is useful for new staff to complete this module and for this to be revisited prior to the questionnaire being completed each year. What is iMatter

iMatter is a staff experience continuous improvement tool designed with staff in NHS Scotland to help individuals, teams and Health Boards understand and improve staff experience. (NHS Scotland Staff Governance).

In February 2015, the Service launched iMatter with Cohort 1. This included staff in East Central Division, Finance and Logistics, Human Resources, Medical Directorate, Strategy and the Chief Executive Office.  This was followed by other cohorts as iMatter was introduced across the whole of the Scottish Ambulance Service. All staff across the Service are now included in iMatter.

The information gathered is used to support improvements in employee engagement and staff experience which is a key driver of patient experience in the NHS.
