- SAS LGBT Network
The Scottish Ambulance Service LGBT staff steering group is held *
The National Ambulance LGBT Network meets four times a year and each Ambulance Service across the UK has links to the network through membership of the Network Committee. The network supports Ambulance Services to provide better experience for their staff and patients. The website offers a number of resources for us to share - https://www.ambulancelgbt.org/.
According to the Scottish LGBT Equality Report 97% of LGBT people in Scotland have personally faced prejudice or discrimination.
The Service is committed to ensuring that we do not consciously or unconsciously discriminate on the grounds of an individual’s sexual orientation and we improve equality of opportunity for all.
We have a holistic approach to equality across all protected characteristics including age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage / civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex and sexual orientation.
